HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM PROLOGIC

2011 has been a year of high activity in our industry, from digital coupons to Extreme Couponing. The coupon industry continues to grow as consumers rely on coupons to help them cope with a challenging economy.  In 2011, overall industry coupon redemption will likely grow by 2-3% for the second consecutive year after the blockbuster 20%+ growth in 2009.

2011 has also been a year of growth for ProLogic:

As 2011 comes to a close, I'd like to thank you for your business and continued support, which makes these achievements possible and meaningful. I look forward to an even more successful 2012 as we continue to help you manage your coupon receivables and stay on top of this fast-changing industry.

Wishing you all the best of the holiday season and a Happy New Year,

Ross Ely

PROLOGIC PRESIDENT TO CO-CHAIR 2013 ACP INDUSTRY COUPON CONFERENCE

Ross Ely, President of ProLogic, will co-chair the planning committee for the 2013 Association of Coupon Professionals (ACP) Industry Coupon Conference. As the only conference dedicated exclusively to coupons, it presents an important opportunity for retailers, manufacturers, coupon processors and vendors to examine the latest trends and developments in both paper and digital coupons. ProLogic participates on the ACP Board of Directors to bring the voice of the retailer to this industry association.

The 2012 Industry Coupon Conference will be held in Nashville, TN on April 24-26, 2012.  ProLogic encourages all retailers to participate in this event; if you would like more information, please contact us at comments@prologicredemption.com.

KEYWORD "COUPON" DRIVES RESPONSE IN SOCIAL MEDIA

According to a recent report from Buddy Media, the most engaging Black Friday/Cyber Monday Facebook wall posts were those including the word “coupon.” The findings follow a four-week study exploring how brands used the social networking site to advertise holiday deals. Using “Like” rate, comment rate and engagement rate metrics, researchers analyzing more than 400 major retailers’ branded pages found that “coupon” generated twice as much engagement as other keywords.

While pertaining primarily to general retailers, the findings suggest a few strategic tweaks that all retail market segments, including grocery retailers, can use to improve social media results:

  • Simple status updates were most effective, resulting in 58% higher engagement than average
  • Posts containing the word “coupon” generated a 109% increase over the average
  • Using “deal” also resulted in higher engagement rates, with a 4% increase over average

For grocery retailers, it’s an easy way to boost customer response, increase traffic and improve brand loyalty. Read the full article here.
